Event details
Lyn Harris and Michael Ruh discuss the marriage of crafts to create a one off, sensual piece. Lyn explores every angle of perfume creation, from how scents are discovered to building a complete and final sensory experience including the development of bespoke, specially commissioned bottles made by the Michael Ruh Studio. Lyn discusses the artistic collaboration which is at the heart of all that her atelier, Perfumer H creates. Michael Ruh's hand-blown coloured glass perfume bottles and candle holders (in dusky versions of citrine, ruby, amber, smoke and teal), hand-engraved with a gold initial H, provides the ultimate in a personalised service. Michael demonstrates the making of these extraordinary works of art. Visitors can commission both a perfume and a bottle from each maker.
Having established her first fragrance house Miller Harris in 2000, with the help of partner Christophe Michel, Lyn took two years to redefine her unique approach to scent developing her new atelier, Perfumer H, in London’s Marylebone. Perfumer H shows an "uncompromised determination to pioneer naturals back into perfumery.” Harris, the only classically trained female nose in the UK, is on a global par with the likes of French perfumers Françoise Caron, Christine Nagel, Francis Kurkdjian and Frederic Malle.
